Two original 1920s sales receipts from historic Port Clinton, Ohio food merchants John Sorensen and Sorensen & Dischinger. One receipt is handwritten and dated April 5, 1926.

The John Sorensen receipt advertises groceries, fresh meats, butter, eggs, vegetables and fresh fruit in season. The companion Sorensen & Dischinger receipt advertises fresh, smoked and salt meats, sausage and poultry. Both were printed by Schell Sales Book Co. of Fremont, Ohio.

Wonderful examples of early 20th-century Ohio commercial ephemera with original handwritten purchases, prices and calculations. John Sorensen operated a longtime grocery business in Port Clinton, making these especially interesting pieces of local history.

Condition
Antique used condition with substantial age-related toning, staining, creases, folds, edge wear, tears and paper loss. The John Sorensen receipt has losses along the right edge. Original handwriting and marks throughout. Backs have dark carbon-style coating consistent with sales-book use. Please review photos closely.
