Original 1930 Pet Recipes cookbook published by the Pet Milk Company of St. Louis, Missouri. This Depression-era advertising cookbook features 80 pages of recipes using Pet evaporated milk, with recipes tested and approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute and endorsement from the Delineator Home Institute.
Includes beverages, breads, cakes, cookies, candies, meats, fish, vegetables, desserts, sauces and more, along with period illustrations and colorful food imagery. Original two-ring binding and salmon-colored covers remain present.
Also includes vintage loose recipe ephemera found tucked inside, including a Pickle Recipes sheet from a gas company Home Service Department and an old Holiday Goodies newspaper clipping.
Condition
Fair antique condition with substantial age and use wear including toning, staining, spotting, soiling, creasing, edge and corner wear, page wear and oxidation to the metal rings. Loose recipe pieces have heavy toning, folds, tears and edge losses. Page 80 and both covers are present, but completeness of every interior page has not been verified.
