Antique 1876 Harper’s Weekly Richard Wagner Portrait Centennial Exposition Floor Plan

Authentic original May 20, 1876 Harper’s Weekly newspaper leaf featuring a large engraved portrait of German composer Richard Wagner, identified as the composer of the Centennial Inauguration March. Below the portrait is a detailed architectural ground plan of the Main Exhibition Building at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, America’s first official World’s Fair celebrating 100 years of independence. The reverse includes historical articles, Whittier’s Centennial Hymn, and fascinating Victorian advertisements for patent medicines, household products, real estate, and inventions. An exceptional piece of 19th-century American history combining classical music, architecture, World’s Fair memorabilia, and antique newspaper advertising. Original pages 413 and 414, not a modern reproduction.

Condition Antique condition with significant age-related yellowing, foxing, discoloration, staining, and handling wear. Visible horizontal fold crease, edge wrinkles, small tears, and minor paper losses along the margins. Noticeable staining along the right edge of the portrait page. Printing remains generally clear and legible. Unframed original newspaper leaf. Please review all photos.
