Antique wooden gentleman’s necktie storage box featuring elaborate pyrography or wood-burned decoration. The lid incorporates the word “TIES” among scrolling ribbons and floral designs, with additional floral decoration continuing around the sides. Long narrow form was designed for storing folded neckties on a dresser or vanity. Features finger-jointed construction and metal corner/hinge hardware. A wonderful surviving piece of turn-of-the-century gentleman’s dresserware and pyrographic folk art.
Condition
Antique preowned condition with substantial age-related patina and wear including surface discoloration, marks, scratches, edge wear and oxidation/tarnish to the metal hardware. Interior shows age and use. Construction remains intact. No restoration attempted. Please review photos carefully for condition.
