Antique Metal Shoe Polish Dauber Brush Primitive Shoeshine Tool c.1900-1930s 6"
Antique metal-handled shoe or boot polish dauber/shoeshine brush with wonderful primitive character. This early utility brush features a distinctive openwork stamped-metal handle, round metal-mounted brush head and dense dark bristles.
Metal-handled shoe daubers are documented in period advertising from the early 1900s, and surviving examples from the early 20th century share the same compact size and utilitarian metal construction.
The bristles are somewhat soft and show noticeable unevenness/angling, with one side shorter than the other, likely from age and use. No maker's marks were found.
A great authentic display piece for a primitive, farmhouse, cobbler, shoeshine, general store or early tool collection.
