Antique Windsor Club wooden cheese box advertising Yellow American Process Cheese Spread, manufactured by Pauly & Pauly Cheese Co. of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. An unusual surviving piece of early Wisconsin dairy and food advertising with faded original red lettering and castle graphics.

The original composition text remains remarkably decipherable and describes the spread as a process cheese food mixture made from fresh and mature cheddar cheese, with labeling stating not more than 46% moisture and not less than 22% butterfat.

This box clearly had a second life after its original use. Old handwritten tape remains along one side and appears to identify small hardware once stored inside, including “WASHERS” and partial “KEY…” wording. A wonderful example of the practical reuse of early wooden food packaging.

Condition
Antique heavily used condition with substantial age-related wear, fading, staining, scratches, discoloration, worn edges and oxidation around the nails. Bottom wooden panel is missing. Old handwritten tape remains attached to one side from later use as a small-parts storage box. Advertising and product lettering are faded but significant portions remain readable.
